Hey yall. I moved to northeast iowa not too long ago. I am looking into pheasant hunting public land. I live in clinton and have no idea where would be a good spot. Any help would be appriciated.

Worst area in the state for pheasant. Public ground is a waste of time, you'll be better off watching a SD hunt on the T.V. I haven't seen a rooster in 3 years. Opening day was probably your only shot for public land.

Plan a couple trips to beckridge if you want to shoot some pheasants.
Why do I shoot 3.5" for geese? Because they don't make a 4" yet!

You should try Goose Lake WMA, especially after it freezes up the swamp solid. Also check out the DNR web page for the map of "where to hunt". There are a few public hunting sites in Clinton Co. Be careful during shotgun deer season on public land....
