The Iowa Prairie Network's Central Region will host a Prairie Celebration on January 18th at the Des Moines Area Community College Ankeny Campus, Conference Center (Building #7). The meeting is open to the public, no fees or registration required.
The doors will open at 11:30 with the program starting at 12:30. The meeting will wrap up around 5:00 with pizza available ($5 donation) for people who would like to stay and visit longer.
Presentations will be given by Dr. Laura L. Jackson the new Director of the Tallgrass Prairie Center at UNI, Carl Kurtz naturalist and prairie reconstructionist, and Stan Buman nature photographer.
The proceeds from this year's silent auction will help support protection of the Quigley-Slattery Heritage Prairie. DIRECTIONS TO THE MEETING: from I-35 exit 90 go west to Highway 69 (Ankeny Blvd) then north (if you got off I-35 at exit 92 you will need to go south on Ankeny Blvd) to the DMACC campus, the entrance is on the west side of the road. The meeting is in the Conference Center, Building #7, this will be the first left after you enter campus from Hwy 69.
