Postby ksfowler166 » Sat Sep 03, 2011 11:37 am

Hi, just went out dove hunting today saw two birds in the field I was hunting shot at one but missed. Was hunting a cut wheat field and was across the road from a milo field. Doves seem to be scattered today. Any one else went or is going hunting write and post pics. :welcome:

Thank God there are no pictures of my dove excursion yesterday. I was coming home from class driving the beetle, when I decided to go chase some birds. Drove around for an hour and ended up deciding to do some scouting for water. Went walking around a marsh that was pretty dry, and on my way back, went knee deep in marsh muck. Next step went calf deep. I got back to the car (which I am borrowing from my mom to drive back and forth to school) and decided I didnt want that crap all over her floor or seats, so I stripped down to my skivvies. So there I was driving home in a v dub beetle, shotgun in the passenger seat in my underwear. I was almost hoping to get pulled over just to see the look on the officers face.

I've shoot five boxes(125 shells) to take a limite of 15 birds. When dove hunting or trap shooting the ammo companies do love me.

This is not something i would be bragging about. I know you are only 16, but you need to practice son.

What is your average on ducks?

Sorry was using it as an example the most sheels I've shot at birds. I know I need pratice, wish I was as good on birds as I am on blue rock and trap.Which is to say better but not great. I don't really shot to many ducks, last year I shot three ducks and no geese. My Average for ducks probibly would be four per duck.

we went out for teal last nite and the pond was almost dry. didnt feel like goin home though so we sat down for doves. we ended up shooting a 3man limit. It was absolutly insane. I have never seen that many doves. I guess some good even comes from the bad.

Technically It doesn't state he double dipped. They shot 45 with 4 guys, 4 man limit would be 60 so if hadn't filled his limit in the morning he could still shoot the rest of his limit that night.. Maybe im wrong? I got lost with all the doves shot and days, had to really think this one out. haha.
