SE Kansas

Postby TBK » Tue Sep 27, 2011 8:49 pm

Grew up in SE Kansas and never waterfowl hunted until I moved to Texas 10 years ago. Now I've really gotten into waterfowling and know I screwed up not taking an interest a long time ago. I still have family there and hope to make back up to hunt in the next couple years. Just wanted to pop in, say hi and hope there are some others from the same area in here. Good luck this year.

Yep its gay as hell, all to help out 2 outfitters, because we all know unless you have an ice eater there is no open water during the split most of the time.

If they are going to set it back they need to adjust where the cut off line is, it should be hw54 because us north of there dont want the new zone, we freeze up too early to have it.

Most of us down here dont want it either. I still refer to Oct 29th as the start of real duck season, and our Nov 5 as the handicapped season.

It was within one vote of getting pushed back till Nov 19th this year. We lucked out because the vote they needed was a SE KS guy that runs hunts on his place. Next year the SE zone will probably be looking at a Nov 19th opener unless something changes.
