Their Whackin & Stackin

Postby John O`Neal » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:16 am

Not everyone chased ducks on the re-opener . My young friend Curtis and his buddies had a fantastic hunt in a winter wheat field . The irony of this story is that Fri afternoon Curtis and I had both scouted this same field unbeknownst to each other . The obvious difference is that Curtis stopped and asked for permission while I drove on to scout for ducks for the next mornings hunt. My mistake.

Nice! We also went after geese instead of ducks on the split opener. Problem is we can't hit the broad side of a barn. I was fortunate enough to get the first shot of the morning, a big canada, feet down at 20 yards, 3 shots later, I'm sitting there watching him fly away. The three of us ended up shooting 4 but we definitely had our opportunities.
