Week 2 Teal

Postby EcatMagoo » Sat Sep 15, 2012 7:59 pm

Week 2 was another muddy and fun adventure. My father and I took 8 birds and had a really enjoyable hunt. Our duck hole was down another inch or two due to evaporation and I am really starting to worry about this duck season. If this pattern continues we will have no place to hunt by November. ....... Please lord let October be a wet month.

The hunting is good right now but the water is continuing to evaporate. With out good rain in October it will become un-huntable. Right now it can be hunted but takes a major physical effort to slog through deep mud.

What a difference from last week. From knee deep mud to flooded corn and milo! We shot 7 but 2 escaped into the jungle. Lovin' it.

At least you have something to evaporate.
I've been worried about this season for three months....and it ain't gettin' any better.

Agreed, I feel very fortunate to have found the place I have. Its really difficult to hunt but i dont mind sweating to get close to ducks.

Seems like the recent cold fronts may have moved the bulk of the teal south. Went out Tuesday and didnt get a shot. My father went out this morning and was also blanked. Hopefully today's North wind will bring in a new batch.
