Someone posted this on another list.

1982 Hen mallard 70 pts, Drake mallard 20, pintail 10
1983 Hen Mallard 70 pts, Drake mallard 20, pintail 10
1985 Hen mallard 100 pts, Drake Mallard 35, Pintails 35
1986 Hen mallard 100 pts, Drake Mallard 35, Pintails 35
1987 Hen mallard 100 pts, Drake Mallard 35, Pintails 35
1988 Bag limit 3 ducks no more than 2 mallard 1 may be a hen, 1 pintail
1989 Hen mallard 100 pts, pintail 100, Drake mallard 50

The above was true until 1994 when they returned to a 3 bird bag limit.

As poor as the first part of the season was, the last split in the Late Zone was as good as it gets. New water inflows at Quivera certainly helped! Also helping was that most other hunters apparently had already written off the season by Jan 19, and put their waterfowling gear in mothballs, because I saw very few other parties during the five days that I hunted the late split.
For the season, I hunted 1/3 the days, got 1/4 of the birds that I got last year.

Overview: Drought led to poor conditions, poor conditions led to duck numbers approaching zero, had to travel much further afield to find birds, several outstanding late season hunts salvaged the 2012 season. Can't wait for next year!!
