Saturday hunting?

Postby Mallyard » Mon Oct 23, 2006 12:17 pm

Anyone headed out to Quivira on saturday? If so let me know and maybe we can join forces, I'll probably be by myself. I've got a doz floaters and tons of duck deeks, and I can blow a good duck and goose call.

I think I am heading out to the bottoms if you want to join up there? Still trying to decide where to head. I want to take out my boat, but not sure what I am going to do yet? Hard decisions.

Maybe I will come down and join forces. no water + too many hunters * not very many birds = Second guessing myself, going to the wrong place, yelling at myself in the bathroom mirror, wife leaving me because I finally lost it, dog leaving with the wife because he is worried about who is going to feed him.

All this because of some birds

Gosh I wouldnt trade it for anything.

Come on out KC. Maybe, we should just plan on an early season forum hunt to get things started off right?

Mallyard,

This is the last weekend that I will be busy.... sorry, any weekend from here on out and I'm definitely in. This whole coaching/teaching thing is really cutting in to my free time.

I'll be around the Milford area. I saw a ton of ducks at day light this morning. I am taking out a total of 7 guys. A 7 man limit should be easy with all the ducks down. At least that is if we can get to our spot, since it's on public ground.

killed 19 this morning including 3 mature greenheads, and one bull canvasback...
I couldn't belive it when the dog brought it back... I've never even seen one before. anyway we shot some redheads, a pintail, a couple teal, a couple wdgn, and the green heads. A nice mix. I'll post pics tomorrow.

we ended up with 30 ducks, mixed between redheads, mallards, teal and gaddy's. Went out in the evening and between 5 of us, we took 10 woddies, with only 3 being hens....Was an awesome day of shooting for us.
