Longshot...but may work out

Postby bjepsen85 » Wed Oct 02, 2013 11:17 pm

Hey guys, I would like to see if anyone would be interested in having another hunter with your group in the next week or two. I am an outfitter in North Texas, so i have everything needed, and would be happy to bring anything. I could trade you a hunt or two for a hunt here in Texas if that would interest you as well. I had a guide there cancel on me, and i'd still like to make the trip, just can't find anything open this late. If you know of any outfitters that have a seat open I would be interested in that as well.

Thanks, and happy hunting.

You should wait a month or so and then throw out this offer.
2012-2013 Season

Looking forward to it

So I think I have decided to take a buddy along and go check out the bottoms, may do more scouting than hunting, but want to see what it's all about.

If anyone has some tips, i'll tale all I can get via PM of course, don't want to say anymore than I already have on your public forum.

Thanks again guys, looking forward to it!

Which "Bottoms"?

Don't take this in a negative way, but you're willing to trade a hunt in Texas for (one or) two hunts in Kansas, but you're all booked up in Texas this year?
You may not get too many bites on this one....

Tell you what: I'll take you and your buddy out for $350 per person per day, non-refundable deposit of half the amount by cashier's check.
Sound familiar?
I have the boat and equipment, and have done the scouting.

Man, I guess I rubbed you the wrong way. Yes, I am booked, so I can't leave the state for a week. That doesn't mean I can't add a few hunters on one of my hunts, or one of my other guides hunts.

No thanks on the offer although you seem to be a fun guy to hunt with, i'm sure there are few good guys not chompin at the bit to cut somebody down, able to point me in the right direction.

I know you've probably had a dozen offers by now, but, again, which "Bottoms" are you talking about?

Just got back late last night. We had a great trip and you guys are definitely blessed with some great hunting up there. Easy to find a spot to be successful and away from the pressure with little scouting.

There were plenty of ducks, we were able to easily shoot a limit both days, mostly blue wings for us as well as everyone else we spoke to there. The habitat there is something that we don't have down in Texas, and I can see why the ducks would want to hang around up thelre as long as possible.

Met a bunch of good folks at camp, enjoyed the visits by the camp fire almost as much as the hunting. We will make it back next year, thanks again for the help guys and good luck this season!
