la cygne warm water

Postby addict28 » Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:58 pm

With that time coming up where everything is frozen, I was looking into the craziness of the warm water at la cygne. Is it a long hike to get to a spot to hunt from or is it pretty easy access? Its a really long trip for me to scout it out so just asking for any info. Thanks.

Every bumpkin within two hours of LaCygne will be there. I would stay away if I was you. Unless you like having a mojo and two dozen hot-buys within 50 yards in every direction from you.

Not many spots to hunt without a boat....Get there early, but you'll still be covered up by guys getting there right at sunrise and the fisherman that show up right after them.

Well im new to duck hunting and I dont have a lot of spots to go especially since hillsdale is frozen. Is there a gravel parking lot or something for this warm water area or do you just park off like young rd and walk?

The warm water area is a joke. I've been there. Couple times and will never go back. There will be guys lined up every 50yds in all directions. I had guys try to water swat a grebe swiming in my decoy spread last year. Don't waste your time. This is honest not BS trying to keep people away.

I went and checked it out at 9am today and only 2 groups were there. Several groups flying really high but consistent. I was just wondering how far you can walk out in waders. Anybody know if you have to make your spread really close to the bank or what?

Almost everywhere there will get deep pretty quickly, so I would be very careful with shot selection if you don't have a boat or dog.
