new to duck hunting

Postby big8s » Tue Jan 04, 2011 6:17 pm

Well this is my first year of duck hunting and been out a few times but today was an awesome day I still havent connected yet but saw the most ducks Ive seen all year. I think its my calling technique but had mallards flying all around me. I guess I saw about 150 ducks now all I need is to find somebody who really knows how to call and I may actually get some in close enough for a shot. I was hunting GreenRiver WMA if theres anyone close with some time I have a sweet little hole to hunt.

I live in the green river area. I have hunted the river several times but I would love to hunt another area. Could you point me in the right direction?

Be careful handing out info on hunting spots. Next time you go back there may be 50 people hunting it. Nothing wrong with helping others but keep it general.

Dont hand out spots on this site man, bad news. Your spot will get jacked.

I agree with both of you, but I'm not looking for his spot. Just some spots in general.
I would be ticked if somebody stole my spot and I'd never take somebody else's.

I’m not referring to you personally, just in general I wouldn’t go around blabbing about spots because from past experience it usually results in trouble. I would assume your a stand up guy until proven otherwise! Good luck to you all if you go together!!
