Postby big8s » Sun Oct 30, 2011 2:20 pm

The wife and I went and checked out a few holes where Ive beaver trapped for a few yrs now and the first one I hit we jump a little over a dozen canadas about 25 or 30 woodies and about 20 mallards. I cant wait for thanksgiving morning.

If it's a private hole sounds like you are set. If it's public I hope no one else finds it. I have been seeing woodies zipping over the pond just about every evening. Hunting Thanksgiving dinner last week I was out there every morning and evening and they never failed to make a appearance, but never sat down on the pond. There are quite a few fields across the road from me that get hunted daily so I think my little pond will pull a few that escape.
On a side note, did anyone bag a turkey last week? I had my chance Monday but had some things working against me and though I heard some clucking off in the distance didn't see another one. Oh well guess its a butterball this year.

sorry but cant give up the location of this particular hole, its about a 15 acre beaver swamp that Ive trapped for a couple years now and nobody goes down there and its stateland. I think they are scared of the walk cuz its quite the walk down and even worse coming back up but well worth the walk.

I am glad you are doing well catching fish, that always is a good thing.

I am guessing Bills? Maybe we can have a year where the Cans, Buffies, and Goldies show up.
