FRANKFORT, Ky. – Ballard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Ballard County has closed to waterfowl hunting through Dec. 12 due to flooding. Boatwright WMA will remain open under flood conditions.
“We’ve had 3-4 inches of rain since Sunday, and we’re experiencing some flooding now,” Ballard Area Manager Rob Colvis said Monday morning. “We will just have to reevaluate conditions on Monday (Dec.12) to determine if we will reopen that week.”
Under flood conditions at Boatwright WMA, hunters use boats to access hunting sites instead of walk-in access.
