Relocated duckhunter

Postby 2fowlmood » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:44 pm

Recently relocated to the Ashland area, and have been informed there are very few ducks in the area. Needing some help in finding some spots to hunt. Lakes, rivers. Anyone ever hunted Greenbo, Grayson, cave Run lakes? Not looking for those "honey holes" just a point in the right direction. Have boat and willing to travel. Thanks

Post up some info man... Might have better luck that way... Welcome, I know Cave Run has some different regs about hunting, so look in to that...

But really, there are no ducks in Ashland or the surrounding 250 mile radius... Go west... Ballard west

hell, its probably closer for you to go to the chesapeake than coming to ballard!

honestly, there are ducks around muhlenburg co along the green river which isn't quite to ballard.

Cave run is alright, but its big and you need to know some good spots to set out. There are no geese allowed to be taken anywhere on the lake or the 4 highways that border it on all sides. Outside that, its in the eastern goose zone, which is closed a large part of the season. I'd look at the Ohio and Sandy rivers if I were you. 3 other lakes are close as well, or maybe try Lewis County WMA.
