Postby kyducker30 » Sun Dec 18, 2011 7:49 pm

Floated over twenty miles on the river saturday saw a grand total of 16 woodies we killed only 1.
Has all of our ducks left and the new ones not got here or whats the deal.
Thought this year was gonna be good guess mother nature has different plans for us.

The two key factors to consider as our problem so far this year is the large amounts of rain we are receiving And the warmer temps!!! Jan should be good boys!! Let's just hope...

I've had a few days over the past couple of weeks where I've been covered up in ducks. These days were usually followed by near flightless mornings. Its feast or famine this year. Location and timing are everything.

Daily average high and low temperatures up north (I checked Bismarck, ND for instance) are over 10 degrees higher in Dec. 2011 than in years past. I don't know how long weather.com logs their records, but with those kinds of temps, we can't expect birds to be in Kentucky just yet.
I think we'll be seeing a big push of new birds by the 1st of the year, unless temps drop sooner. Here's a link to a freeze map you can follow: http://www.intellicast.com/National/Temperature/FrostFreeze.aspx

We always have a warm up the week of christmas. Went thru some hunting logs from years past, and this id the week for it. We will be fighting them off like flies in a few weeks. Then everything will be right in our world until february!!!!!!!!!!
