Does anyone know why we have a 4 day season and a week long break then the rest of the season?

From what I understand, it (the split) allows the resident population and early migrators to move out. The split then pushes the 2nd part of the season back and allows it to run longer in the calendar year, allowing for maximum opportunities for us to hunt mid and late season migrators.

Google it and some states describe why they split the season.

Now that the early season has come and gone, we can now get ready for the late season and start praying for rain and nasty weather up north.

I'll probably pick a tree stand over a duck blind this weekend. No new ducks around that I've seen.
