What is the situation with Pintails in Cent. Ky. Never seen them around except this year.

I saw 3 Pintail on the River during IN early season. First I've seen here in 10 years

been seing them by the boat louds in se missouri and im not used to seeing them until really late in the season and it is usually just a couple

i killed 2 on the ohio a couple weeks ago they took a close look at our decoys... to close!!! :yes:

Is there a trick to getting pins to work in West KY? Best places to see pins...river, backwater, fields??? About the only duck in our flyway that we don't kill...been seeing some...

Ive only killed them in open fields. shot pinnies in a dry field spread a few times also.

I hunt timber 90% of the time. I had some circle me a few times but they didnt commit in all the times I have hunted.

Heard/ saw some flying a couple weeks ago in Scott County... Never had one decoy or even fly close though...

Ive seen pintails the last 4 seasons in central ky. Never had em hit the decoys though. But I know of a few people who have shot em close to where ive seen them. Had a big wad work us the week before Christmas but they wouldnt finish. A friends friend had a small group hit their pond in Boyle County and both guys got a nice drake. Central KY ain't all that bad if you put the time in to scout and know the area well.
