4 hooded mergansers and a ringneck (all drakes). Saw a bunch more but none were working that well.

today was one of those " we should of shot them" days. ten mins before daylight had 1 single drake mallard come in. 5 mins before had a pair come in. 1 min before had a woodie come in.

had 4 buffle heads come in at shooting time managed 2 hens.
then had 3 mallards come in and we waited too long and didnt shoot  . then had 2 drakes come over tree tops and wouldnt finish so we killed them both  . then had a pair of mallards swing wide and light so we killed them on the water on a 1-2-3 countdown. after that the wind changed directions and went about 20 mph right in are face, with white capping waters and i said screw this and we got out of ky lake. jumped tons of birds in the calm areas on the way out. but when the wind changed we where screwed because they wouldnt fight through the woods to come in the decoys.

headed to barlow this afternoon. will post back with report.

don't hunt ceder creek anymore but i still here it's way overcrowded. taylorsville hasn't been any good for years but if your going to try it wait untill everything else freezes and then hope your there when they are cause at that lake there here today and gone tomorrow.
