otter slough is one the best public duck hunting locations. and ten mile pond usually holds pretty decent numbers, as well as being right in the middle of the fly ways from crab orchard, reel foot, ballard, and horseshoe. if u get in semo around the tri state areas u get a field for a decent price. and get birds less pressured over in missouri. but if u get right on top of the refuge then the birds are smarter and like every refuge they know where they wont get shot.

Doesn't the hunting go down hill pretty past the further away you get from places like Otter Slough and Ten Mile pond? I guess your ok to the East but to the West I think it gets bad.

A drive to Stuttgart from West KY would still be atleast 5 hours.

we had a field right within a few miles from ten mile pond and a field right across the river in missouri from ballard and horseshoe and we did alot better the farther away we got. we might not see 10 thousand birds in a day, but we killed the hell out of em, had no competition and caught tons of birds trading from refuge to refuge.
