I've lived in west Monroe all my life and I've hunted most of the wma's up here. Just wondering if there were any leases around the area. My uncle was in a lease in tellulah and the hunting was great. Just was wanting to know if there were any clubs or leases in the northeast part of the state that would take a new member next year.

There are LOTS of leases in the monroe area. You will just have to find some hunters and ask around, keep an eye on the classifieds, etc. Duck leases are not generally well-advertised. Most of the time it is word of mouth.

In that area, you want to hunt the rice fields in Mer Rouge. Call Elton Kennedy. He is the biggest rice farmer up there and always has leases that are available it seems.

1. Call Kennedy Rice in Mer Rouge
2. Ask for Lanny Philly
3. Make sure you are sitting down
4. Hold your jaw firmly as he tells you the lease prices
I also seem to remember that Johnnywink.com had three fields for lease in Jones, LA this year they advertised on facebook.
