Duck hunting Sabine Island??

Going to hunt sabine island this weekend was wondering if any one has hunted it recently?? Iv read on other sites that there are loads of teal,and some mallards,then read other places that say there are no ducks. would appreciate feed back!!

Unless things have changed, Sabine Island WMA is a woodduck spot. Cool place and worth exploring but I never saw much there in the way of ducks. Good skirl huntin though.

Sabine NWR is likely where you heard reports of other birds.

I used to hunt Sabine Island a lot. Only saw mallards a couple of times while deer hunting. I often wondered why it did not hold more. But there are plenty of woodducks.

Now I have not hunted it since Rita.
