Catahoula Lake water level

Postby Mr.L » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:56 am

Well, another year the Corps of Engineers have failed to get water level at 29.5 ft in lake. Water level today is 28.42ft . Many hunters will not have water around their blinds for opening morning. This is really aggravating, especially to those who plan their yearly vacation around duck season. I wish the Corps would begin flooding the lake a week earlier than they do now. Hunters on north end are getting tired of this the last few years. Those lucky enough to have water should get some good hunting on Saturday. The rest of us will just have to listen to their shooting in the middle of the lake.

I really have no sympathy for those with no water. Hunters all around the country adapt to whatever water situation is presented each year and its a normal part of hunting PUBLIC property. Catahoula lake is the one place where people will piss and moan about how their water isnt being managed just the way they want it as if they are ENTITLED to the perfect water level. If they want guaranted water they need to be willing to pay for it. If foks werent so locked into only hunting "their" spot then they would be able to adapt and kill birds like everyone else in the country. One more reason why the spot squatting needs to end.
