Just wondering if anyone has hunted upper ouachita refuge or been to the bastrop side. Was wanting to know ifthere was any water over there. Haven't been there in a couple years. Thanks

There is no access to the Bastrop side at this time except by boat or very long walk.

LOOOONNNGGG walk, probably 3 miles to anything hunt-able. They've once again waited until the middle of duck season to do a project and this one just so happens to shut down the main road to east side, it doesn't appear as though it'll be open this season.

Dont go. No ducks and the game wardens will lock the gate behind you then write you a ticket later for being there.
My lab died, and no one on Duckhuntingchat even cared.

MonsterMallard, that is correct. Gravel Pit and any other road going in to the bastrop side of the refuge is closed to access.
