Seems to be a pretty good front coming through next week that should set off the hunting. Get your stuff together, and don't screw it up.

Well went out to brush the blind today and if this front dosen't provide a good push of birds it looks like black bird jambalaya for next saturday night!!! :lol3: However there has been and still is a LARGE number of geese in our area. The goose activity in our area is pretty much a copy of last season. Wish i could say the same for the ducks.

I saw on the local news tonight that the black bear population in that area is getting pretty high? Do you guys run into any on your duck trips?

I haven't gotten a report yet, other than South West Mississippi didn't see a huge push of birds evident in this mornings hunts.

Hopefully a few make there way down our first split was less than spectacular.

We ended the split that sunday with only taking one bird. Any push will help.

Jarren, I don't know what's on you, but there's quite a duck show across your west levee now and, of course, geese, too, north and west.

Dave, our marsh is holding more birds, though mostly jacks with teal remaining largely absent. But the good news is in the rice, with several new large big duck concentrations around.

How all that will shake out when the shooting starts, we'll just have to go to see.

It's certainly not the pick up we had hoped for.

Thanks for the report Rick. Good to hear there are some ducks around.

Those geese have been giving me fits. With those two big bodies holding so close by it hard to break the traffic to them off.

THey are tick tick tick down round Cameron. Or they were. Last day of the first split we had a blind loaded with pins, and one covered with teal. The pintail blind killed their pins, and moved to the teal blind, and the teal blind killed their teal less their limit of pins, and swapped. As stupid as I have ever seen it with the teals though. Wave after wave of flocks of 15-20 at a time.

Well i'm reading and hearing of "good numbers" reports for the rice fields and marsh down here. Haven't been able to venture out on my own due to this disableing feature called work. Looking forward to Saturday.
