You have to have a permit to put a blind on cross lake and I am not 100% sure on this but I believe they are not permitting anymore blinds. You would have to acquire on old one that someone lets go.

Not saying the hunting is good on cross but it couldn't have been any worse than many other places around the area this season. As for the blinds you just have to find a spot within the set guidelines that you can find out at the lake patrol office. Have to be so far away from houses and other blinds. The permits are pretty cheap once you find a spot. Take a gps and mark a few spots then go to the office and see if one's available.

Year in and out the hunting is generally not that good on cross.

I think someone told me you had to be 600ft from another blind. Doesnt seem that far to me.

We have piece of land with what is considered a legally "abandoned" duck blind. I'm clear regarding the law and regulations, just wondering if its worth time/money to build the blind back up and pay for blind permit. Anyone ever hunt on cross lake or hear anything about the hunting on it? Thanks

I don't have a blind on it but a good buddy of mine does. We've gotten a few limits. Killed snows/blues, teal, greys, a few pintails, and a lot of divers. Plenty of bluebills and ringers. We got a few reds and 2 cans on it this year. It's not pressured that hard so the birds tend to respond easier.

You must not hunt the river, toledo, caddo, or wallace.

Hunting pressure is rather low (because there is very few ducks worth the price of a shell) on Cross but if the white perch are hitting there will be fifty guys fishing for every one hunting.

This is a very accurate statement.
