FEMA/NFIP Advice

Not to bring up a sore subject, but has anyone here in The Louisiana forum had any experience dealing with FEMA in regards to flood insurance claims. I have been involved in the Hurricane Sandy mess and my home sustained structural damage which they have determined was pre-existing.

I'm going to appeal their decision but was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and might be able to add some insight.
