Need some specifics. You will also stand a better chance of getting a response if you go to the forum of the perticular state you are going to visit.

Welcome aboard, and happy hunting!

Then head south, all the way south to that states forum and ask those guys. Oh, and ya, welcome aboard, now head to the rear and have a seat!
Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?

:welcome: the season is over it normally starts around the 14 of november give or take a week and ends the end of january. As far as public places would need to know what part of the state you are heading to.
If they're dumb enough to be lured in by plastic you're really just doing them a favor.

Know your target before you pull the trigger.

Duck Hunting is ALL about the bag.

One of the mods moved it to the appropriate area.

As far as public areas, sorry I have never hunted public lands. However, I have heard they were hammering them on Russell Sage out of Monroe. I had a pitiful season on private lands, but I just don't care to hunt around someone that I don't know.

There are many places, and I mean many public places. What I would do is look here:

Plan the trip and take a look at the maps. You can then ask questions such as How's the hunting been at Atchafalaya Delta WMA, Lake Bouef, Attakapas, etc.? I don't hunt public land any more. In the past I've only hunted a handfull of times and had no fun. People set up 30 yards from you and shoot at everything in front of them and in front of you. I don't bother. It's worth spending the extra money and having a private lease.
