Catahoula Lake water draining

Does anyone know if the Corps is still draining Catahoula Lake after recent rainfall? The reading at rivergauges.com on riverside showed no change at 11:00. The center of the lake and lakeside readings are vastly different.

I didn't go today but the gates were open earlier in the week and there was so much current in the canal that you had to load your boat at an angle

I was thinking it may flood out because the riverside was almost level with the lakeside but now both are falling and the black river is falling too so that should keep it from backing up (hopefully)

It sure is taking the Corps a long time to drain water down to 29.5 ft. The gates on the diversion canal cannot be wide open. With more rain expected, it looks like they would try to get it back down faster. It has been only falling about a tenth over 24 hrs for the last several days.

Almost back down to 30' but the five day forecast is showing about 1.5" of rain or so starting today.

I wont be making it over until second split but we should be able to get on them regardless of level. If the rain keep up might have to bring the layout boat for some deep water divers or maybe go poke around in the woods for them trash ducks if its high enough.

Mr. L, yall should be about perfect right now up in the bend I would think.

I have been watching it closely. I hope they get it down to at least 29.8. What do you think 1.5 inches will bring it back up to?

I would say that was a hypothesis but a hypothesis is an educated guess and I lost you on the educated part

With everything wet, 1.5" over the watershed will net you about 1.5' on the lake. Ole Park is about right.
When in doubt, pee on it.
