Looking for a Duck Lease in SW LA

Postby bchampion » Mon Aug 27, 2007 1:11 pm

Well, I'm looking for a lease near Lafayette, LA (2-2.5hr drive). Maybe something in the Lake Arthur-Thornwell-Roanoke-Welsh area, or maybe somewhere around Ville Platte-Bunkie. Flooded rice fields w/the sunken blinds. If anyone has any leads, drop me and e-mail.

Thanks, :help:

bchampion,

I'm not sure how far of a drive it would be from Lafayette, but I used to have some good hunts in the fllooded timber around Saline. I moved five years ago so maybe someone else can help me out with the exact name of the place. I want to say it was called Greentree. Shoot me an email and I can give you some email addresses of some guys in the Bunkie/Ville Platte area that might be able to point you in a good direction on available leases.

To join miller's lake club you pretty much have to be from ville platte or have a prominent family that originated from ville platte and know somone that is already a member of the club that can nominate you for membership if a spot becomes available. People wait many years to join the club and there's no guarantee you will ever get in.
It is truly one of the top waterfowling locations in LA.
There's plenty more to explain about the unique atmosphere of the club but im tired of typing and my Tigers are about to start playing.

Good luck with the search

Call"emClose,

I can't agree more, it is truely a "unique" atmosphere. You definitely have to know the right people in that neck of the woods. I was fortunate enough to have had some great experiences there with some guys I worked with at Bayou Chicot. Looking forward to getting back soon and enjoying some Southern Hospitality!

bchampion,

There are some great places in Avoyelles Parish that aren't as hard to get into. Check those out as well.
