Teal Season Hunt Reports!

Postby yamaha783 » Sat Sep 15, 2007 8:41 am

Hit Scarsdale this morning, were setup to shoot at 6:00 in the boat blind, shootin time 6:15, packing decoys up at 6:30. Great hunt, 8 BW's in 15 minutes with surprisingly great shooting. Will post pics later, hope all did well.

Note: Alligators galore out there, watch your dogs close.

Looks like a good opener for most

Saw your report on LSM. Looks like it was a very good opener for most. I hunted our farm pond vs our marsh lease-alligators and dogs don't mix well. Look forward to hearing reports from other LA hunters. The birds few later this AM in my area than expected and were in singles vs large flocks. Back at'em tomorrow.

tell you what folks, it was hot and heavy this mornin! Loads of teal to go around. Im sure anyone that was hunting south and west of Laccasine, all the way through Hackberry put the cut on em. I hope this is a good sign of things to come here in a few months.

I had a large group of birds found thursday and only saw three yesterday morning. All I can figure is this front carried them straight south towards you guys cause they werent here anymore. I knew I should have went to the bend.
If they're dumb enough to be lured in by plastic you're really just doing them a favor.

Know your target before you pull the trigger.

Pretty morning on the water, not sure if my crew went back today though; there were plenty of birds yesterday. Most of the groups flying low buzzing around were in 3's-8's or so, up high saw some groups of 20-30+. good luck guys

only saw three teal Saturday morning in SE louisiana, only heard five shots total in our area. Kept busy decoying over 50 greys though. They were coming in in 2's and 4's all morning long sitting in our spread 10 yrds from us. Good to be out there again.

Hey Grappler is that Toledo Bend
it looks like you are hunting right out of the boat launch at 1215

About the teal:
Saturday morning- Terrible total of 12 birds with 12 hunters
Sunday morning- A little better 13 teal with 7 hunters hunted with my brother-in-law

it does look like 1215, but its not. its not too far away. 1215 is still a pretty good boat ride though.
