Last year i hunted mostly on the little duck dam, then the latter part of the season I hunted from the "corner of the old field" back down to "pardee". Me and a buddy really were the only ones down there most of the time( weekends).

I need to get out there and do some leg work if I am going to hunt it......do most people who hunt down there just hunt close to the roads......would you be better off bailing off into the woods with a piroue?

thats what we did last year, roamed alot. floated the whole creel from th old field launch down to duck dam launch. Make sure you have a gps if you roam way out, if the waters up like it was last year. It's got to be up for it to be worth going out there, at least out of the banks.

most of the people are coile pond hunt close to trails but anywhere you go if you take an pirogue and paddle for an few minutes you will be more secluded

:welcome: to DHC. Glad to see some fellas from around home. We all need to get together one day. Bodcau is one of those places that can be a glory hole or a bad day. Most any day you can kill your two woodies in a few minutes. When the birds are here the mallards will be in there and you can do real well. Main thing is to scout and try to get away from the banks. Ill say 90 percent of the people drive their truck down and wade in MAYBE a hundred yards and call it good. I have killed lots of birds this way but to keep from getting agravated I would get that pirogue and get after it. Be patient some days the big ducks dont start filtering in until later in the morning.
If they're dumb enough to be lured in by plastic you're really just doing them a favor.
