Bodcau WMA and Sabine NWR Questions

Postby Nathan Hoyt » Fri Oct 05, 2007 2:51 pm

First question: Is there water in Bodcau? I am down in FT Polk, so I haven't been up there in awhile.

Second question: Is the Southwest NWR complex open yet? I heard it opened in March, but I don't know anyone who has been down there.

Thanks,
Nathan

Bodcau never has water until later in the season as they dont open the gates until season starts. Some years it may have water early due to high water and floods.
If they're dumb enough to be lured in by plastic you're really just doing them a favor.

Know your target before you pull the trigger.

Duck Hunting is ALL about the bag.

I just rode through bodcau today, dry as a bone. Unless it does some hellacious raining soon there won't be any water down there- it needs to be out of the banks!

Dang, last time I hunted up there (fall, `05) it was like that. On the south end, there were about two places that were big enough set a rig up. Kinda gets hunted out pretty quick that way.
