Weekend Report - Casco Bay

Postby DUKHTR » Mon Nov 17, 2003 9:01 am

Got out Saturday afternoon to try a new area for me. Tide was incoming and I wanted to try a cove I found while searching satalite pictures one evening last week. Great way to learn the channels and flats! Anyway, I set-up on a small point and had a slow hour, but a little after 3 the gates opened and I was being buzzed by a bunch of blacks and mallards. Took a black and then had to be careful. Ended up with a pair of mallards and a drake buffy. A nice way to limit right at the close of shooting. While picking up I had alot of ducks wanting 'in'. I will try to get a day off later this week because the tide will be perfect for an early morning hunt.

I was surprised not any geese were working this area, although I know they are around.
