Birds are Stacking Up

Postby DUKHTR » Mon Dec 15, 2003 10:08 am

Had an outstanding three days - 2 in NH on the Bay and Saturday I was out on Casco Bay here in Maine. Each hunt was different. Friday was a black and Canadas, Sat was a Black and buffleheads, then yesterday was almost all mallards.

Location is the key for a certain species. The other issue is the boat access. Lot's of landings are snowed/iced and there are only limited places to launch.

Geese on Great Bay must be at least 3,000 and there are huge numbers of mallards and blacks.

We just got another 20" of snow this morning.
