Going it alone for the last 4 days!

Postby Seaductor » Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:51 pm

Went up to the open zone and got into them pretty good shooting mallard and black limits the last 4 days in a row. Managed 2 geese one day and should have had 2 more the next but they came in on my off side and my shooting options were nil.
I did manage a nice drake mallard which came in and tried to land on my off side. I sat up, tried to turn enough to get a shot but he broke hard away, I swapped my shotgun over to my other shoulder and killed him going away!! :hammer: He's the one with the nice double curl in the photos below!
Tule was awesome rounding up everything for me in fine fashion!
First morning I missed about 10 shots in a row on decoying flocks!! Finally 3 birds came in and Bang, Bang, Bang, A Triple!! If I hadn't just missed 10 in a row, I'd be a little prouder of the accomplishment! Also doubled on the geese and this morning killed 3 birds with 2 shots! collateral damage on a suzie behind a drake I was shooting at!
