kind of embarrassing..

Postby jlmaine » Sat Nov 03, 2012 8:00 am

So i finally dragged my old lady out into the blind this morning... a few minutes after legal shooting time we got buzzed by two ducks, on the pass i saw the drake woodies plumage and i got real excited. well they made a quick turn and dive bombed my mojo, with my surprise ( and my girlfriends) i folded them both up in quick order. So i send out my pup and to my surprise i have no idea at what the second bird is  .. the first being the drake woodie. i looked on the internet and cannot find anything like it. I was under the impression it was a hen woodie when i shot it but not so much..please help me identify.. and take it easy on me :hammer: :help:

P.S. finally got my dad out on a goose hunt, we saw over 1000 geese, but got only one, still awesome

Oddly enough, the first duck I ever killed was a Hen Lesser Scaup that looked identical to the one you just took. I bagged that one, and haven't even seen another one since! There are a few around Maine, but we're certainly not loaded with them like some areas of the country. Congrats!
