Glad to have the 1100 back!

Postby hurtin_honkers » Sun Nov 11, 2012 10:43 pm

right before early goose i broke the firing pin in my remington 1100 12ga 3" so i was using my fathers mossberg 835 pump. dont get me wrong, its a nice gun, but it had reloading issues and it just ddnt fit me right. I finally got my gun back from the gunsmith and since i have shot a deer, and 2 geese and 9 big mallards! just something about putting my late grandfathers 1100 in my hands makes me deadly when i enter the woods. thanx gramps and hope the rest of u have that special gun u always seem to kill more with!

I feel you man. Been shooting my 11-87 for 19 yrs now and just feels like an extension of me. Old family guns are the best.

Thats an awesome feeling man, glad you got your baby back! Me on the other hand am in the worst shooting slump i have ever been in and cant hit the broad side of a barn! Just waiting for some big flocks to move in around here and maybe ill get back on track before next season! Usually im pretty good at dropping birds, not sure what the problem is
All about the pup from here on out!

the odd thing is, is im shooting a modified barrel on my gun, and my father has a full choke, which should be tighter than a modified any day, but I drop more birds even out to 50 yrds where that full should be perfect.

Ever gun is different. My m2 blows steel pattern to pieces anything tighter then mod. My 1100 fix full is just as tight if not tighter then my m2

Don't have any shotguns but my old mans model 99 and grandfathers 740 have killed manyyy deer. Not only for our family but for our guest too
