Hey guys just wondering if you use a actual call or just a whistle when calling them. Thanks.

whistle but ive had zero luck with calling them. woody decoys will get them to come in closer when they have no desire to be where you are

The duck commander WD-1 is actually a pretty convincing call when you learn how to blow it. It's not a hard call to learn and it's relatively inexpensive ($20).

There is only one call that mimics the long, calm weeping of resting woodies. The Faulk's woodduck call. This call works particularly well if the woodies land outside the decoys, or if they are swimming around nearby. All the others I've heard mimic the panic call... and why would you do that?
It's worth hunting with, but takes a bit of practice. Say 'weeeeep' with ascending pressure and end sharply by blocking the air flow quickly with your tongue.
