All grassed up with someplace to go!!

Postby Seaductor » Sun Sep 01, 2013 4:39 pm

And so it begins in the Morning!! Another season of waterfowling here in Maine. My favorite time of year for sure! things are looking good for this week! Hopefully it pays off for us if we don't drown in the rain tomorrow!! Sleep well tonight for tomorrow night you'll be reliving your misses in your dreams!!!
When you get to be my age, it's always a race to see if you'll piss inside or outside of your waders!!

Had the family and all the gear sitting in the truck at . the field. Downpours and heavy lightning are not an option. Just got back home.

Just goes to show you can not beat mother nature. Can't remember ever being rained out of an opener before. Tomorrow is a different story...........

We were on track to beat the rain. Setup at 4:30 in a green field only to have a group o 5 guys with their kids walk in on us at 6:15. When we approached them they proceeded to tell us to f-off, walked to the river were the birds were roosting and opened up. Unreal. What blows my mind is that they pulled this with their kids. Fowl language, dangerous shooting in our direction etc. Most unsportsman people I have ever encountered. This is exactly the activity that gives our sport a bad name and gets land posted. Oh well, there's always tomorrow, and karma can be pretty mean to!

Did these DB's have any visible means of retrieval for the geese on the river? Wanton waste?

Unfortunately, given my own experiences, I can complete believe it. The truly sad thing is that those kids are gonna think that that is acceptable behavior and grow up to be another generation of DB's.

So that was you? :lol3: Joking.. That's ridiculous, there's no reason for behavior like that. Hopefully someone will teach the kids different.
