A place to discuss Maine hunting. Topics include Maine's reknowned sea duck hunting.

I grew up in Maine duck hunting and now live in Florida. My thirteen year old son wants to duck hunt for the first time when we come up over Thanksgiving. Can anyone recommend a guide in the Rockland or Damariscotta area that can take us out? All my old gear and decoys were sold by my mother years ago but that's a different story. Thanks for all your help!

All guide services are good-depends on time of year, and zone your in. Puddlers, divers or Sea--Ducks-these Guys work hard--Sea-Duckin is the toughest as the Winter blows in.No shorts or T's-lol.Those are not "skeeters -there Ducks " !!--the Kid will never be the same once hooked.

Traditions Guide Service or Penobscot Bay Outfitters are both good outfits. TGS is around Damariscotta, PBO is over by Rockland way.
When you get to be my age, it's always a race to see if you'll piss inside or outside of your waders!!

Some good guides out there, just google Maine sea duck guides or go to the Maine Guides website. I don't go north of Portland. Good luck on your hunt.
