Great idea, although I have to wonder if the new Governor's administration will be interested in expanding hunting opportunities to Sundays or any other day.
Sunday youth hunts with non-hunting adults would probably be the best compromise- many hunters would get to take their kids out without "giving up" their own opportunities, and lots of kids would spend the day in the field that might not otherwise get to go. Win, win.
As far as a day of rest, etc. I think we are one of the few states left that basically prohibit Sunday hunting, even for waterfowl. But, reread paragraph one- I wouldn't hold my breath.
Of course, if we were serious, we could lobby to make Sunday a youth only fishing day, same argument, and then argue that hunting should follow suite. Think anybody would mind?
