Where are the Geese???

Postby wvugunner92 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 7:58 pm

Im sure this has been brought up before but im new to this site. I have been hunting marylands eastern shore, kent island and easton area all my life and have never seen the numbers so low this time of year. We had the worst early season on geese i have ever remembered. Ducks have been decent but i am worried about this coming thursday on geese when it all starts up again. I understand up untill now it has been unseasonably warm, but still. Any body else seeing what im seeing??

Now that it has cooled off I have been seeing geese everywhere. They were not around during the first split because of the warm weather. They are here now.

Just have to put the time in and scout since numbers are not where they usually are.

Geese are moving a bit more but still mainly resident birds in the frederick county area!

The numbers are very low. I usually see thousands around Cecilton this time of year. Sat in the pit all morning on Thursday and saw maybe 100 or so.

Same here. With very few exceptions, I'm still seeing only resident birds. Haven't seen any flocks of Canada's to speak of. Did see some snows fairly early, but if I was a "goose only" hunter, I'd be getting pissed.
