Trying to scout this place out am I allowed to take a boat. I heard from someone its walk in only. And if I can where is there a boat ramp?
Is it worth scouting it?

There are no less than 4 boat ramps there.

Yes, you can use a boat. Some of the marsh and impoundment is only asessably by boat and some areas can only be reached on foot. There are a few ramps. I have used two in the past but I believe there are couple more. Look at the WMA map on the DNR site, the ramps sould be on there.
The big question is why Deal Island? There hasen't been a decent number of birds there since the early '80s.
