A place to learn from others, share information and gain knowledge on duck hunting in Maryland, of the fabled Chesapeake bay.
I have many friends who want to try out hutning, but have never done it befor. they are all very intrigued with the idea of waterfowl hunting and dont have hunter safety certificates. is it possible for them to just buy a federal duck stamp and tag along with no gun and " observe" to see what its all about? is there some sort of three day liscence that they could purchase with no hunter safty course? if any one as any ideas, please jump in.

If they don't have a gun and you don't have an "extra" gun in the boat/blind they can go without anything. No license or stamp as they're not hunting. I take my father-in-law and he doesn't hunt. We've been checked by DNR and they're good with it.

Butcher is correct...Don't need a thing and no need to spend any $$$. Just make sure you don't have extra guns. Have fun!
