red drum

my appetite for red drum/redfish/spot-tails has recently been awakened, or discovered i guess is the best word. i am curious if anyone has ever found them in any numbers in the bay. i am sure that in the right times the beaches along the atlantic are a good bet, but wondered about bay. any times of the year better than others? further south the summers are great in the backwaters of the carolinas. anything would be great.

under 4 months to honk, honk, boom.

I'm no red drum fisherman by any stretch, but the best luck seems to be in the surf in Sept/Oct. I suppose they are in the bay, I just have no clue, honestly. Never fished for them there. If I go to the bay or over to the sound, it's for croaker.
