Duck Call Recommendations

Postby bpo » Tue Nov 13, 2012 7:24 pm

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a reliable, ducky call that has good volume - primarily to be used in marsh areas of the PAX or other riverine locales. I found plenty of recommendations in the duck call section, but wanted to know what Marylanders like. If there are any local call makers, I'd like to know that too - not just mass production. I can't spend a fortune, but to give an idea of the type, I was considering: Gander Valley Homewrecker; Zink XR2; Hobo Prime Meat; RNT Short Barrel; Watkins Hybrid Swamp Bore.

Thanks in advance!

Watkins, hands down. Call Brian, tell him what you are looking for and he will hook you up.

I'm partial to the RNT's myself.

Nothing wrong with a Sean Mann call. He is about as local as you can get...

If you hunt PAX this year, let me know. I'd love to come out with you. I'm gearing up for my first duck hunt.

I love my Sean Mann call. Loud, and ducky. I also use a Sean Mann goose call. I use a duck commander for soft, close in calling. Both work well.
