Area I was at was mostly locked up. Did break ice and put out some decoys. Did not see a bird. Hope you all did better. Nice to be out with all the snow down.

Took a day off work yesterday (Friday) with a buddy. Best hunt I have ever had duck hunting. Did not limit out because I kept having to push "ice burgs" away from my spread. Spent the whole day out there Friday, ended up with 9 ducks between my buddy and I. They seemed to constantly fly throughout the day and for the majority they were decoying very well. Should have limited out, but we were hunting a public blind so the wind wasn't really ideal, but we made it work. We went out the today (Saturday) less than 5 miles down the river and only saw about 50 ducks?! Had them decoying nicely then just out of range they would turn off to land in the middle of the river. My dad ended up squeezing out a mallard that decoyed pretty nicely. I don't know what happened between yesterday and today but it was like a light switch.

Even though I can't get out, I love hearing about it. Any pics? Potomac report? It will freeze up tonight. Water temp is barely above freezing right now.

I can tell you where they are not-the upper Potomac is flooded big time. Be safe boys.

I would guess corn would be golden for geese in this cold.

Really Pops? 0136 Must be your turn?
My season is just about done with (for?). Boat's still dry docked (Have the parts now though). The farm I was hunting is in the APZ. I suppose I could try for another deer in VA but my energy levels are pretty low at present and the spouse's tolerance is just about limited out too.

I may not know where the birds are but wherever I've been they ain't.

GD, you know it. I pull the night shifts to let mom sleep a little. She DID do a little more than I did with the whole baby thing.

cans, red heads, shovelers, and mallards on the ponds at my place over the past week. Stinks they weren't there earlier but well see them next year. Goose hunting is finally picking up. We shot 13 saturday but most of what we were waiting for showed up to feed 5 min after LST. We got out of the field as quick as we could, hopefully we can get 1 more hunt out of there this week.
does having multiple screen names on a forum and having a conversation with yourself make you an extra special rock star hunter?
