im happy with that it was my first ruddy anyway

Quakhead,

Was that you hunting on the left side going into chaptico bay Saturday afternoon? I was running a bunch of ducks to somebody when I went around the point. Ruddies are there in full force.

i was in a 14ft john boat that has a blind you can tell is homemade but i did see a boat come around n push all the ducks up i was almost directly across from the guys that have that nice blind on the shore by the point

Hunted the upper Potomac on Friday and Saturday. Ended up with 4 geese and 2 mergansers on Friday and 2 mallards Saturday. Saw a decent amount of geese and just a few ducks on Friday, and alot less on Saturday. The last two weeks had shown some decent improvement in numbers, but now it's suppose to be damn near 60 by Saturday. :fingerhead:

Upper Potomac this afternoon. Saw 10 ducks high enough they must have had FAA clearance. Not one honk heard. Good thing there were gulls to count.

We just had the wind in our favor. They were looking for nice calm place to land and chill.

2 blacks last saturday AM
3 cans, a blue bill, 2 buffies and 4 ruddies on monday AM
4 buffies, 2 blue bill, and 4 ruddies tuesday AM
4 ruddies, 4 blue bill and a pair of wigeon that are going on the wall wednesday AM.
Birds been flying late in the evenings, not worth going out, just scouting for the next day.
Scouted RP zone for geese yesterday, they seem to be very spread out and feeding for a long time in the mornings, and then flying between 11am and 1pm. Dont leave your blinds for lunch tomorrow, have a pizza delivered to the field. We will be hunting a day loaf spot i think that had about 150 show up between 11-2 in the afternoon, with a few mallards and small groups of geese in the AM.

I have only seen 2 black ducks all year. Black ducks have to be my favorite. I am going out on Saturday and hopefully will have a good report.

Saw 10 mallards total. 2 pairs and a group of 6. Did not harvest any birds. River is up. Getting hot out there in waders.

Had a great morning on Saturday. Fog was common tho. But we found our spot and wound up with 29 birds. 6 Greater Black heads and the rest Buffies. I will post pics in a little while. Sounds like everyone had a decent weekend. Good job :clapping: :clapping:

We hunted the upper potomac on Saturday and had 3 mallards decoy nicely. Had a few other small groups of mallards check us out, but after a cirlce or 2 they went on their way. Saw about 30 geese, but they never even gave us a look. Bird numbers still seem low in my area. Hoping this small front coming through this week changes that.

saw a decent amount of blacks yesterday, all before LST. I actually for once didn't see a single bird fly while picking up decoys or walking out. Got reamed out by the boss this morning for leaving early the last 2 days to hunt though haha. Guess ill have to sit tight the rest of the week til we head down to the shore

Can't get away this weekend, but I'm going out Monday. With this shot of cold air, I'm feeling slightly optimistic. But not a lot.
