Yesterday's hunt

Postby Mikeguard01 » Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:54 pm

Yesterday out started slow but things got better. Here's a pic of some Buffies that flew into the decoys. We sat and watched them play leap frog until they flew off.

See now you make me jelous. Good for you!

Yesterdays hunt for me consisted chasing a buddy's black duck right when the geese came, bad timing, and watching blacks circle but not commit. (sigh)

Rob,
I know how you feel chasing a cripple and having birds coming in. I have not been able to get the geese to commit. They circle the spread just out of range or too high right over the boat and then their gone. I covered the entire opening of the boat with fast grass because I thought they could see inside the blind still nice dice. I'm going to try to set the decoys up different and see what happens.

I would try a different location. They may not want to land where you are, possibly.

Rob,

I wish I could move to a different spot. I have a couple of blinds sites for the year and can't move from thos spots.

OK, we can hunt anywhere locals won't give us a problem. We just try and stay away from the summer homes and the like.
