well....i wen out yeaseter day and we shot our limit of geese in the morning....so in the afternoon i went out with my buddy for some ducks....shot a coupel of mallers....but then (what i thought was a hen beffel head came in and i shot it then, wen i went to pick it up it turns out to be a...well hell idk....(lil bird like head and beak...then a sea duck body, with diver like feet, and red eyes....) we looked it up in my book and it said it was a "gre-bi" ever seen one or at least know anyhting...bc hear in maryland i had know clu that existed.

I belive they may be a protected bird so you might not want to continue the inquiry...

I think from what you described it was a Eared Grebe.
